Following on from a chat I had with a friend of mine who always when going to bed turns the telly on.
Has it on timer to turn it off after he has fallen asleep (did not know they did this)
And then switches it on when he wakes up!
Reminded of it when Bozza posted that he was watching MOTD2 in the bedroom naked (erk, rid me of this mental image ).

My mate who is not a teenager but a middle-aged married man with kids was as gob smacked as me for not having a telly in the bedroom as i was for him having one.

I'm of the opinion bedrooms are are for sleeping and "other" bedroom activities only.
If i want to watch TV then i go to the lounge.
Now i know its generally normal for teenagers to have them in there bedroom as it there own space etc and the use them mostly for gaming.
But i'm talking about when its your own home hence you have "control" over the telly rather than being a sibling.

Why would you want to watch tv in Bed??

We have a TV in our bedroom, but its rarely used. In fact, thinking about it, I'm not even sure if its connected up to anything any more.

I used to go up there to watch the football if she had Eastenders on, or some other horrific mess. But now I just get on the lappy and use Sky Go.

I never wanted one, but when I was told I'd need kidney dialysis, I thought I'd be in the bedroom a lot, so I got one.

Have not got to the point of dialysis yet, but I love have the TV in the bedroom. I used to be downstairs watching, falling asleep, then decide to go to bed, and by the time I've sorted things out and got to bed, I'm no longer tired. Now, I go up, and if I fall asleep no problem.

Never use it in the mornings, though.

We do, but the children don't (son has a DVD player but no TV as such). I do like a bit of news before getting out of bed sometimes.

Nope, never felt the need. Also, it's difficult enough getting out of bed on a Sunday morning as it is, but if I had a tellybox in the bedroom I'm not sure I'd surface before the pub opens.

Use it for watching footy when the kids are watching kids stuff or wife is watching wife stuff. Saves arguments about what we are watching.

Oops. I assumed everyone had a tv in the bedroom. I prefer to watch footy on the bedroom tv away from the family as they never let me get any peace when it's on

Yes, rarely got used for ages but I got the cable brought up to it last week mainly so I don't have to watch Embarrasing Bodies et al.

Yes. Mrs Grombleton and I will pop on a DVD of a TV series (not a film, so we can turn it off partway through and not miss anything) whilst we go to bed. Never turn it on in the morning though; i'd not get out of bed.

Yes we have one in the bedroom, and do exactly the same (set the timer).
I don't generally watch it for long, as I'm usually knackered as I get up for work at 4am, but the wife likes it.

I'm up at 4:45 every day, so I go up at 9:30, TV on, and usually fall asleep with the cats next to me within 15 mins.

No but I do appreciate having one when in a hotel room.....for the mainstream channels that is.
