When I was made redundant I deliberately took a month off to get the slacker attitude out of my system, then I hit the jobs section of the Surrey Advertiser and cast my eye over that new-fangled inter-web thingy for job sites.

Of course, waiting for the phone to ring is really boring, but I found it could be okay if it happens to be summer and you can sit in the garden reading a book - which can only be done once the grass is cut. Gardening, a good way to top up your tan and make you feel like you haven't wasted your day!!

I reckon it's ok if you have a little money saved. You can go to galleries and see films etc during the day when not that many people are about. That can validate your free time.
Unfortunately, i am running out of cash and my landlord might want some rent soon too.
Nuts!

The other good thing to do is simply have a look around the streets. Generally, during the week, the mentalists appear. I had a good argument with a bloke demanding £2 off me the other day just because he'd got out of prison the night before.

I hate my boss.

She's an absolute cow, always checking my work, always finding fault with it and never leaving my side. Sometimes it's as if she lives in my head as she grizzles on, endlessly, about "get off NSC, pick up your camera take some luvly pictures of kittens and nice weddings instead of drunks and do some CHARGEABLE bloody work for a change!"

Self-employment? It's a tough job but someone has to do it! Although all this gardening talk has reminded me of an urgent appointment out there with a cup of tea and a nice spot of late afternoon sunshine.
:D
