Ludicrous article in the Argus, frankly. Absolutely incredible, they think they're doing us all a favour do they? Wow, thank you so much for changing me the same as last year. :dunce:

IMHO the current pricing model has to be consigned to the dustbin of history when we move to Falmer. All the while we're at Withdean, there's a definite sense of unfeasibly high prices being paid by a semi-captive audience (i.e large number of STH renewals) as a sort of charity. Support Your Local Club By Paying Through The Nose Or It Will DIE! There's a definite sort of moral pressure being applied there, and one that most of us are happy to go along with. But that has to change as soon as we get to Falmer, so far as I'm concerned. At that point we should be comparing like for like with what other clubs in the same division charge. The Big Bucks Boys will be on board by then, and IMHO there should be no assumption whatsoever that the fans pricing structure should in any way resemble what it does now. If we're in the Championship at that point, then fair enough, the club may have a case, but any division lower and they need to go back to the pricing drawing board and start again. Else they're taking the piss.

I look at it as £88 per month for 5 months, £440 overall I believe, which is acceptable in my opinion. But it's not like they're doing us a favour, not really. Because it is still too much, we all know that it will be more expensive at the Withdean for many reasons and that's fine, but it is still higher than most in our league, so to suggest they're doing us a favour is what I object to.

Also, Uncle Buck mentioned about chucking in JPT tickets to give better value, I actually think that would be a good idea and would qualify as "doing us a favour", atleast making the gesture.

There is no way it will be that cheap over 5 months, when its about that paying in one go. I think last years 3 month payment option was £475, so a 5 month option will be pushing £500 if not over it.

Not great value, but you get a travel voucher for every match day and a FREE comedy DVD halfway through the season

Um, for info, the club did actually used to do the 'first home cup game free' thing until a couple of seasons back. Then they stopped doing it as a cost-cutting measure in a fairly desperate bid to keep the price down/generate income from first home cup game. Fair enough, times were tough, the future of Falmer was far from certain, it was one way towards staying afloat when we were in danger of going under. Desperate times, desperate measures. But that was then and this is now.

“We have frozen prices across the board. In some cases we are charging the same as we were four or five years ago or possibly longer. We hope that eases the cost that supporters have to bear."

Yeah, you've eased the costs by leaving them exactly the same. Ken Brown isn't related to Dean White is he?
Bet the club cannot believe how lucky they got with the way the season ended.

I was quoting what I'd been told, I'm sure the figures will suprise us a little bit when we get the letter next week.

THPP, I've only been a season ticket holder for the last 2 seasons, I wasn't aware they used to do that. I was a season ticket holder that first season at the Withdean, I remember you had a few cup games included in that, which was a good deal, it would be good if they could try that again, but I understand why they don't.

The thing that made me smile about that statement was that 4 to 5 years ago we were playing at a higher level so stands to reason why they were more expensive.
But i suppose the club have to spin it as posativley as possible...
