Do we really need a striker?

Knight on 19 goals (I think)
McPhee on 9 goals (I think)
Piercy on 2 goals (very few apperances up front)
Robinson on 1 goal (even fewer apperances)

Now if you double that for the season;

Knight 38 goals (club record)
McPhee 18 goals (very respectable total)
Piercy + Robinson 6 goals (not bad considering only a handful of games played between them)

Now lets look at our midfield.

Chippy on 1 goal
Oatway (has he scored?)
Yeates Zero and he goes back to Spurs soon.
Rehamn (scored 2 hasn't he) gone back to Fulham (thank god)

Please correct my stat if they're wrong but to me this says quite clearly we need a PERMINANT midfielder who can score about 8 goals a season (or more) and can provide a bit of service!

And for Christ sake get some one who can take a free kick!

Chippy's free kick against Wycombe was a peach.

Yes we do as most of our goals have been scored at the beginning of the season. Saturday was a classic example of how we can't score (Knight going out on wings as no-one there to collect balls etc). So yes we do.

I think we really need a striker who is capable of holding the ball up. This would allow time for the midfield to join the attack and contribute more as well. Bobby was great at this for the last few years and although Leon has done well at goalscoring this aspect of Bobby's game has not been replaced.
