My existence on this earth will not amount to anything more than a moments thought for my passing like a pebble dropped into a pond, through the history of mans time on earth very few individuals have been remembered beyond their immediate close family, having said that it does not mean I think I have led a totaly worthless life just not one that warrants any great memorial

Many years ago I saved a boy from drowning, so that's good.

Hopefully he didn't grow up to be a Serial Killer, Paedo, or Fly-tipper.

Not so sure about this life but in a previous life definitely. After all, somebody had to stop that f***er Napoleon. Coincidentally, in this life he now works down my local co-op. I still don't like froggy Dave, he never stocks the upper shelves properly.

Totally, we all helped reduce the number of Man Utd ,Liverpool, Chelsea fan etc. living in the South East

That’s debatable. Reduced the percentage, maybe.

I often contemplate what the point of everything is. I’ve yet to find an answer.

I live in the west, I'm using too much of the planets resources on a per capita basis. My existence has been detrimental thus far...

I like my fellow human beings am a pox on this fair planet. I struggle in vain to drag my poisonous existence into the black and out of the red (you get nothing in this game for two in a bed) but alas it is futile.

Think there are 2 ways to interpret this question:

Has planet Earth benefited from my existence?
and
Has society benefited from my existence?

Obviously the planet hasn't as I've used more resources than I've created and I've made more pollutants than I've cleared. However hopefully society has benefited from my existence as I've tried to be as altruistic & community based as possible.

Stupidly worded choice of questions in the poll. For 99.99% of the population (if not more) the answer to both questions is 'No'.

I have added nothing in the grand scheme of things apart from furthering the human race by having children...

All the good I have done for others will be lost once they die, too - so I'll never be remembered. How many people here can name their great-great-great grandparents and know anything about them? Not many, I'm sure.

I think for anyone to say they've made the world a better place for their existence would have to be leaving a legacy which will affect people they have never met in a positive way after they're dead.

There aren't many people who can say that.

I like to think so, but aren't we supposed to use the resources ?
Every creature uses them, though some use more than others.
Who is to say that if another type of creature evolved to dominate that they wouldn't have done the same.
Is it possible that what happens just happens in spite of us.
We will be just a blink in the lifetime of the planet, we may change it, but won't destroy it.
I am not advocating using and digging everything up, it is just a thought.

What a great poll.

I hovered over 'No', then thought f*ck it! Yes, I'm bloody brilliant.
