Dont know about you guys (and girls) but I am pissed off with foreigners being parachuted in to give their opinions before, during and after the game and as for that twat Roy Keane ........

Must say I do agree with you on this. They seem so irritating to me.

Not English, but Gordon Strachan is a regular on RTE.

However, I agree than Keane shouldn't be a pundit ANYWHERE.

Had Dietmar Hamann in studio yesterday.

The same weekend I saw Trevor Steven (as well as Liam Brady) on the telly I also took in a spot of Gaelic Games at Croke Park, and Wexford were one of the teams taking part. Can't remember the other side but one was definitely Wexford because the old bloke sat next to me was extremely drunk and spent the entire afternoon either yelling "COME ONE, WEXFORD", or being told to calm down by his wife.

They also have this horrendous Irishman, Tommy Smyth.

Who I had actually never heard of before I had to suffer some of his 'commentary'.

Played in the States before there was any reason (money, exposure, fame) to do so, so I can only imagine he was absolute shithouse.

What? You're suggesting that experienced European footballers, offering their vast knowledge on the participating teams is a bad thing. You want more of Gareth Southgate?

Interesting question Gullzone. Everyone has pointed out the English voices in other English speaking places such as Eire
,US and the bizarre success of Mick Robinson but really do Its whether the French ,Germans or Italians employ our ex players on their main channels like we do? I suppose the answer will always be no until someone bothers to learn the lingo well enough. I can only think of Roy Hodgson as someone involved in football who has.

A lot of English don't speak other languages. A lot of foreigners speak English...

A lot easier to find a foreigner who speaks English put it that way. Mainly because the language of football is English.

But I agree there's too many of them these days on our sports programmes.

I'm sure Owen Hargreaves could cope with the German. I'm not sure if he would be a decent pundit, though.

He wouldn't make it through a complete game.
