[Help] DIY help please- best tool for cutting carpet tiles

Planning on doing a spare room makeover, and replacing the rather k.nackered big carpet with carpet tiles-

easiest option imho, as a few bits of furniture will be hard to move out (lack of space).

Can any carper pro's here, recommend a worthy trimming tool- mainly for the corners at the doorway, and slicing straight edges off tiles, to fit to size of room (approx 16 feet square).

Move the furniture and then carpet.

I think a very sharp craft knife would be sufficient.

No idea what the professionals use but I’ve always used a Stanley Knife with a carpet blade

With lots of blades - carpets blunt them very quickly.

A sharp Stanley will do it but also have a straight edge ready.

They are called Dolphin knives, the curled blades are for vinyl and straight for carpet and tiles
