Seems they want £14m for Origi - could pay that over four years and link some to appearances and staying up etc, so could get cost down to 2m to 3m per year

Odds largely mean **** all - although the Lallana ones were right - his mates clearly had a restricted stake wedge on us before it broke

Graham Potter ones were spot on too.

Good point. 8/1 favs hardly says anything tho :( no inside knowledge bets yet clearly...

£14m is a good price imo. When compared to what Leeds and Villa have spent as well as our own past spends on Locadia, Andone, AJ etc..Don't think it will happen bcs he must think of himself a CL level player and PL top 6 player and why not, he's won both the bloody things. However if he was to 'do a Lamptey' and use us as a stepping stone, I'd be well happy to be stepped on for £14m and hopefully make double or triple in a couple of years if he pushes on. Lallana will have a good working opionion on his ability and workrate thats for sure.

Maybe Tross and Lallana can have a word.....

Didn't realise he's still quite young, worth the risk I think. Out of all the ones we've been linked too, think he'd suit our system the best.

Skybet also offering odds of us signing

Jesse Lingard 10/1
Callum Hudson Odoi 33/1

The odds on Brewster have been fluctuating almost daily. The price has to drop significantly, say 1/10 or more to really suggest something might be happening.

8/1 is still a long shot in my book.

They're probably just hoping changing around the favourites from time to time brings in more bets than they're getting for him right now.

You'd have to be mad to bet on any signings right now. I bet all the club owners are starting to hold back looking at these Covid19 figures, not to mention places like Madrid bringing in army control. Football just doesn't look like it's happening this season. Fingers crossed though.

My worry is (like everyone) we seem to be linked once in the press then not mentioned again....! Dream world, we take Brewster and Origi, then a quality LWB - say Ryan Sess on loan. £35 mil should do it, wage bill trimmed, not as much as we’ve spent before and we’re already well in ‘credit’ with the sales we’ve made at the mo - I can dream... but if we want top 10 at some point we’ll have to be bold like this...

Now this is what I’d class as ambition

Get me in as TB’s right hand man and I’ll make it happen...

I’d just play them the Newcastle game in full and then tell them no words are needed - here’s where you sign..

A counter argument. Given our fairly recent history and our over dependence on one mans financial input, aren’t we better of being prudent while we ride this economic shitstorm? I can see the likes of Palace and Villa massively over stretching financially and really struggling in a year or two.

I don’t want to see us go through that again. I’m more than happy with us playing it safe

All fair comments. None of us can say given we don’t know the budgets etc etc...

He’s 25 and over 6ft, gives us a different option up front and is certainly the best option we have been linked with.

Exactly completely agree with everything you said but more important than his age and height, he knows how to finish and knows how to press which suits our system well. Lallana knows him, Jota just gone to Liverpool so somebody is being replaced our rivals already signing strikers, will probably be competing with Batshuayi for a spot in the Belgium squad so will be motivated to start and do well. Genuinely would be over the moon if we signed him.

Wasn't long ago he was scoring in a champions league final so he's probably got interest all over Europe so wouldn't hold out too much hope but definitely an outside possibility would be happy if this was the only one we got in to be honest. As much as I would like a left wing back as well a different striking option is surely first priority seeing as March seems to have found his calling in LWB. Think Liverpool would want more than what's been quoted for him though.

It takes two to tango, unfortunately. As The Leeds could tell you.
