I saw this picture in the argus yesterday, they have started dismantling block w or what ever it was next to the family stand. They say it will take 6 weeks in all to get all the stands down and do any ground works to get it back to how it was

Not into athletics but wouldnt it have been beneficial to have left some of the stands for spectators and tried to promote the ground for more athletic meetings.

The north stand and west stand will remain which should be plenty for athletic meetings.

Could they not up the standard of meetings to that level also the floodlights are there for late summer early autumn meetings.

Just got back from the Withers gym, the East and family stand have already gone. ALl the seats have gone in the South and half the stand gone already to leave just the scaffolding and remains. Looks very odd knowing we were playing there a fortnight ago.

Withdean - seating capacity = 8500ish
Amex - season tickets sold = 18400

Your right!! we should have left Withdeam untouched until our new ground is ready just in case of any hold ups and we needed somewhere to play in the meantime (but imagine the binfest over who would get a seat at Withdean and who would miss out)
