I had a spinach gratin type thing that I made myself and some homemade bread.

Paddy and the kids went to the football but they have stuffed cabbage and sauce for when they get home.

How do you stuff a cabbage and with what?

Stuffed the leaves with mince, onion, rice and stuff.

Boil the leaves for a few mins until they go soft and roll it all up.

Squeeze a lemon on top and you're good to go.

Sounds quite nice - might try that sometime

Is that similar to the Greeks do with Olive Leaves to make Dolmades.

Yes. Whatever I fancy or have on hand at the time really. Last nights had Italian dried herbs in it but sometimes I just put black pepper and am done.

Tear the leaves off the cabbage and cook in boiling water or steam until wilted enough to be flexible.

Cool.

Mix mince (about 1lbs worth), cooked rice (I make for four people and put rice for two people in the mix), egg (one beaten), onion (one chopped up), and salt, pepper, herbs to taste all together.

Put a few spoonfuls of the mince mixture on each cabbage leaf and roll up.

Put rolled cabbage in a big saucepan. I put chopped carrots or celery on the bottom of the pan (chuck them away just use them for flavour and to stop cabbage burning on the bottom)

Mix a tin of tomato soup and a tin of chopped tomatoes together. Add a little water if needed. Pour tomato mixture over the cabbage rolls.

Lid on saucepan and leave to simmer for about 90 minutes until mince is cooked.

Or you can precook the mince and it is done in about half hour but it's harder to get the cooked mince to stay rolled up in the cabbage.
Enjoy!
