Player deals are usually done by the time a fee is accepted. He is also at the Olympics so a medical probably already done. The fee is the longest part to deal with. Most clubs give permission to speak to another club once interest is registered.

Will be interesting to see how he'll be used. I think he looks a fair bit like Gross - he's fundamentally a creative and attacking player who likes to work hard and take a lot of defensive responsibility. Brings another kind of balance compared to using a player like Joao Pedro or Enciso in a 10 role.

Doubt he'll play all that much this first season, its a gigantic step from MLS to PL, especially in the tactical part of the game.

Do you think a medical has been done at the Olympics ?

Nice signing for the future but getting very worried about our central midfield for next season. Seems to be even weaker than last year if gross and billy go.

Selling our two main midfielders from the previous season two summers in a row is a bit concerning.

Those two players you mentioned are part of the reason why our midfield has been incredibly easy to play against at times and run through. Gross is obviously fantastic but both of them are not good defensively

Sky Sports now reporting a deal is imminent. They also mention him being expected to stay at Inter Miami on loan until the end of the MLS season.

Good. Think he would have struggled for game time. Not sure about letting him stay at the dire level that is MLS but could imagine it was part of the price.

I'm not sure the club insurance company will see it that way, hell of a trust thing when millions are at stake
Actually, insurance companies may prefer it to come from an independent and internationally recognised sports scientists, than from a club that have stakes in that player.

The tips and insight he’ll get playing alongside the greatest player of all time more than makes up for the lack of quality in that league.
True, should be learning quite a lot from those veterans.
