Wardy told me a few years ago that he wanted to stay with us for the final (obviously) but it would have meant extending his loan (or simething along those lines). When Wardy spoke to Clough, old Big Ed said to him something along the lines of 'I never got to play in a cup final so I'm buggered if I'm letting you play in one'.
