Same in the Mirror, just a small piece at the bottom of a page in their football supplement.

Slight paraphrasing in the Telegraph article, in reference to Gus's reaction to his sending off:

The Uruguayan said: “That’s me, chaps. I’m not going to change, like me or hate me.”

I really can't imagine that Gus has ever said 'chaps' and he certainly didn't in his actual quote yesterday. :lolol:

Big piece in the S Times but by that asinine old fool Glanville. Said that we wouldn't reach the heights of the FA Cup final again (knowing the unknowable) and that the current side isn't as good as the one we had in the top div in 1983 (stating the obvious).

The Telegraph "Read a full match report of the Championship game between Brighton and Hove Albion and Doncaster Rovers at Ricoh Arena on Saturday August 6"

Oh dear :(

I thought the national press were banned from reporting on the Football League games yesterday?
The Sunday Times make reference to that.
Saying only a few clubs allowed press accreditations, due to he ongoing issues.

The Observer report is very positive.

Funny, as I was reading it just as the BBC pundits doing the Wet Sham v Cardiff game were claiming Donny looked the better team yesterday. Sounds very much like they've just looked at the stats and assume a winner that deep into a long injury period must be very fortuitous

Shitty, unnecessary comments in The Sunday Times I thought.

Yes, particularly this: "It is doubtful if Brighton will ever again come to a moment of supreme achievement as they almost did in 1983 at Wembley in the FA Cup Final, when only a dreadful miss by Gordon Smith saved Manchester United from defeat. That was a Brighton team with a good deal more talent than the present side."

Why is it "doubtful"? Premier League football may yet be no more than a dream, but as Hull, Reading, Wigan, Watford, Blackpool and quite a number have already demonstrated, it's not impossible with good management, a decent squad of players and the right kind of financial injection. We are well placed to push for that over the next few years.

So watch this space, Mr Granville ... :amex: :amex:
