did anyone else think we played crap on saturday?

although we won i thought we were v poor, talk about playing the long ball! lets face it oldham were worse than us.

I agree. We didn't play as well as we should have. Hsving an argument with an Oldham fan on the bbc site. He thinks we were much worse than Oldham! Was he watching the same game.

I am totally fed up with Oldham fans going on about the referee. We deserved to win. They were crap! Having said that, we weren't good either, just better than them.

Don't worry though! We will raise our game against the bigger teams. I am nervously awaiting QPR!

We did what we needed to.3-1 flattered us a bit but we did deserve to win.Plus it can't of been easy playing in that heat.

We will have to play better against QPR but I reckon we will and it should be a good game.

I think the Bristol Rovers game is going to be more of a barometer than Oldham because I think Rovers might have a good season.

Anyway how can you expect a team to stretch itself in last Saturday's heat?

For much of the first half we were pretty rubbish, and the ball spent way too much time in our half for the last 20mins or so.

We weren't great, and this is against a team who will struggle all season. SC was right - if we play like that in all our games, we'll be going nowhere this season. I can only hope we raise our game...

dont think you can use the Heat as the main reason we were crap. it was the same weather all around the country, other teams had great games, some of the passing was wayward .

think we will have an ok season but dont think we we be in the top three unless we sign a few more players.

I was hot sitting in the stand! The players clearly were not going to run for anything that they were not 100% certain of getting. We were very much better than Oldham - but they were very poor indeed.

It wasn't a poor performance. We did exactly what we need to do. Sat behind the ball so we didn't nacker ourselves out and scored 3 goals. Made some good passing too. It wasn't a classic but it deffinatly wasn't bad.

It goes without saying we'll play better against Q.P.R. It'll be a lot cooler. I was sweating in the stands and that was in the shade.

I think in this instance "Crap" is a bit excessive. The players were hot as hell, it was the first game of the season, there were new players out there, the guyts must still be getting used to not having BZ and Brooker, they had a lot to lose on Saturday if they didn't get the result.

They got the result, in appalling conditions, so I think "Crap" is excessive, "not as good as we need to be" to win the division maybe, but not Crap.

We won for fucks sake, don't let's start moaning already.

Hitting the bar was included in the number of chances you created. I don't count the penalty as creating a chance. If you think that kicking the ball off for a goal kick, taking a corner short and blasting it into the box is a chance then there were 30 chances a piece.
