my youngest did it and couldnt answer 1 question - after half an hour she got up in tears and so did everyone else doing the exam, someone somewhere has cocked up here.

Trouble is she needs a B in maths for Uni and this sets her back!!!

Dave,

I know there was a few tears and worries around college due to a similar problem. I think there may have been a monumental cock up somewhere.

I will speak to some of the maths staff later for youand see what the score is.

:lolol: saying that i had a similar problem in my IT exam, well i thought the whole paper was a tad easy. then found out they had put me in fior the wrong exam. so the kind people at longhill gave me the average grade of the year as an apology......a U

There was something similar in the AQA Biology A level practical. It was reported onthe BBC wensite. They set a completely impractical practical exam - so much so that some schools (who all open the exams early to prepare the labs) complained and got set areplacement exam, and others simply gave their students the sample answers. There was a website message board where it was discussed - do a search on the bbc site for the original story.

The only consolation - it is an AS - so she can re-sit. Maybe they will get the paper right next time.

It is already a resit as she is doing her A2's now.

Loughboro have said they will keep her offer open if she wanted a gap year next year - which was nice - but she really wants to get the grades this year!

She needs BBC.

i will have a look at that site Cheers

Think yourself lucky, I was in the same exam hall for 6 hours 40 miniutes the otehr week sitting accounting exams :)

Tell her to forget Mechanics and do Discrete Maths, it's almost impossible not to get an A. I also did a module of it at Uni and got 93%. Sadly it was all downhill from there :dunce:
