Someone on Facebook just posted that last night was the final time dick’s bar was open and it has therefore closed for good

Called it “ barbarism” which I thought was a pretty good effort really

Yes it's been clearly communicated by the club. The Club shop will become 2 levels and Dicks will be moved elsewhere

I thought part of the new fanzone is to become Dick’s bar? I just hope the lovely picture from Albion Roar and the mosaic from fans don’t get ‘lost’ or ‘damaged’ in transition.

I’d imagine there was some board involvement and he didn’t just do it off his own back. Especially if £40am was required

He is but he doesn’t act solely off his own back. Tony will give him the go ahead for his plans.

Maybe, but I’d be happy to leave the money-making stuff to the CEO. If my CEO put a business case to me and it all added up, then I’d say crack on. I’d not get too involved.

But TB is chairman, not CEO. It’s the CEO who is answerable for the financial performance of the company to the Board. The Board will sign off on budgets and top level plans but they won’t get involved in details.

I’d imagine for £40M investment the board probably wanted some details.

As far as I know Dicks will not re-open. It is likely to be part of the fanzone.

Thought I read somewhere that there was going to be a temporary structure erected in Bennett's Field. Might be wrong

If anyone honestly believes that TB doesn't have an significant input on a project like the Fanzone and its ramifications, then they're deluded.

As I've observed before, the rule on here (for some at least) seems to be that TB takes the credit for everything that is approved of, and PB takes the blame for everything that is disapproved of.

Dicks will be moved to the north stand concourse. Whether that is just the name or the mosaic etc is still to be defined. The fanzine will be the pre match meeting place. If you want to meet at dicks and not in the north stand it isn't yet stated if north stand concourse will remain open after the game or if expectation is to use the fanzone

So presumably all those that used to head to dick’s bar will head to the respective concourses until the fanzone is finished next season.

Hopefully they will put out more automatic beer machines to alleviate the increase in queues at the kiosks as you can wait for a while just to get a coffee at times.
