I think even the Chairman knows a proper application from a joke one.

Well you've made me smile Al. But alas now I'm off. Pleasant evening all and save your voices for the THRASING of the East london wannabes tomorrow.

I ask a direct question confirming the statement, and they lie in public and in private? What bastards...

Glad I've made you smile though, however it is I've achieved it.

Does he? Hinshlewood, Wood and McGhee....

Is that the same McGhee who

1. Got us promoted in his first season
2. Kept us up in his second season
3. Made a profit on transfers of £3million in his time here
4. Managed us to our only victory against Palace in the last 18 years

....or another one?

No, because as I have said numerous times reagrdless of what happened people would moan. That's what they do and its pathetic. Today, in my opinion, a proper fans forum would be getting really excited about the apointment and looknig forward to seeing them in action, but instead we immediately, jsut hours after the apointment, get bombarded with negativity.

I think Knight has to shoulder some of the blame for the overall apathy, negativity and disappointment felt by some Brighton fans at the moment.

Pre-season he sacks Wilkins, talks of us moving forward etc. The fans then, generally, expect us to perform well. Had he said something like: "There were problems we needed to sort out and we have done, now we are going to try and build something this season" or something less hyped I don't think fans would have turned on Adams so quickly.

Then we are told dozens of top quality managers had applied for the job here, from home and abroad. Ince's name was banded about by people high up in the club. Boothroyd, Gannon etc. Then we end up with Slade. Is it any wonder fans are feeling slightly underwhelmed?

I just think sometimes Knight tries too hard to hype things up and put an unrealistic spin on things that he raises the bar too high.

That said, I am actually glad we have only gone for a caretaker until the end of the season.
I agree with a lot of that, but I also agree with Lokki that it's now time to draw a line under the last twelve months and move on. Let's hope lessons have been learned, mistakes have been recognised, blah blah blah.

The recent loan signings and Slade's appointment really are the last two throws of the dice for us this season. Whatever happens it's now out of Knight and the board's hands, and whilst I (probably like you) think the club is badly-run I'm going to give it a rest until the end of the season. Up the Albion!

Heading for shore
I'm with Brovian and Lokki on this too. I haven't made a secret of my misgivings for the way Knight conducts his business at times but at the moment going over that again is completely pointless. Some of the accusations and abuse he has received (along with that levelled at White & Booker) has been disgraceful. To suggest he doesn't have the good of the club at heart, as has been done ad nauseum elsewhere, is also ridiculous.

As for Slade I know very little about him but what I've seen and heard so far I like. As a Brighton fan I'm prepared to give whoever is in the hot seat a chance. He's our manager now, Knight's still the chairman and White & Booker are still in place. That's stating the blindingly obvious I know but we really do need to get behind all of them, and every single player who puls on th stripes between now and the end of the season, and do our bit to make sure we don't go down.
