Anyone else hear the interview with Sir Des on Radio 4's Today programme this morning?

Still as sharp and witty as ever, .......

:O

I hadn't heard the interview, and was reading your post fearing you were going to warn us all of some impending bad news, that the old grey matter was slowing down, and the odd marble is escaping from the old velvet bag.

Oh, what a tremendous relief.

That's a bit ageist. I'm 75 and just back from my afternoon 5 mile brisk walk around Cuckmere Haven. Sorry to learn that Des is frail but being in your 70's or 80's does not necessarily mean frailty.

Apologies. Of course not. People age in many different ways.

Hope you enjoyed your walk !

There were a couple of series of a podcast Des did a few years ago with a broadcasting mate of his (could Google it but haven't) - from what I remember, it was simply two chaps watching the tennis at Wimbledon, just talking, telling anecdotes, and it was great. Spending a bit of leisurely time in his presence has always been time well spent.

*I have just Googled it - Touchline Tales. Maybe there are episodes dotted around the internet somewhere.
