In 1976 or so when the first album came out it was the shock value of "Wow - a famous person swearing" and the first album was mildly amusing in a crude sort of way to someone in their late teens/early twenties. - interest waned as the series moved on though.
Really can't see that a box set is particularly necessary although I'm sure that the families of both the protagonists will be grateful for the money they receive.
Peter Cook was very much better than that in truth :

I think its clear that these albums have not aged well.

Compared to the 'It's entirely a matter for you' or 'One leg too few' mentioned above Derek and Clive is third rate at best, and probably should have been left in the cupboard rather than dusting off.
