Has now left Newcastle United.

Would it be a bad move if we approached him in the summer to take over as manager?

Did well at Millwall, Swindon and Leeds.

Only if he has Poyet. Poyet left and he was shite at Leeds afterward, he got Swindon sorted out though after their relegation. I wouldn't mind him getting the job, could do a job in midfield too. He was stunning in the legends game I saw last week, alongside Poyet.

Somewhere over there...
I wouldn't have to many complaints about him being manager if we were in League 2, I might even be happy enough for him to manage us in League 1 if we stay up :)

He has a lot of contacts within the game and has had success at Leeds in League One.

no, your spot on, wise in charge of the Albion would kill off all dwelling love I have in the club !!

Why would one man being in charge kill off your love for the Albion? Surely as a fan you support the team and not a manager. I don't like Slade and I think he's a wanker but I'm still a Brighton fan and nothing will change that.

Is EVERYONE who leaves their club a target for the Albion now?

Managerial wise I'd say so. The board/directors/Dick Knight should analyse who's available in the summer (inc. Slade) and offer the job to the best man available.

Wise wouldn't be interested in running the Albion, if he came here it would be just for the money because he would be out of a current job. If it didn't work he would be off quicker then Flinn (sic).

Surely the manager is part of the team ??

Brighton
Dennis Wise is a oxymoron, and more so, a complete twat, Poyet was the brains, became very noticeable when Poyet left Leeds leaving Wise in sole charge. Leeds went downhill very quickly.

Depends how you see it really. A manager is there to manage a team and is always the first person to get blamed when anything doesn't go right and things turn wrong. A lot of people wanted Micky Adams gone but still wanted the Albion to win all the time.

Bit you don't consider purely for the sake of it. Why would anyone include that disgraceful little prat in thier reckoning, unless just to dismiss that consideration in the same second?

Maybe the success he had at Leeds was down to Gus Poyet or maybe it was a coincidence that things started slipping when GP left. Wise has contacts in the game and could attract higher-profiler players to the club compared to a different manager. He also has that character that suggests he won't take any crap from any of the players.

EDIT - you changed your original post in which I was responding to

And Russell Slade does take crap? And the Albion doesn't have contacts?

You're falling into the shallow 'celebrity big-name circus' trap which frankly counts for f*** all. It matters not one putrid bollock whether he can get in a 'big name' (whoever that might be in Divsion 4), who, as a general rule, tend to cost more, it matters whether we can get the RIGHT players in, at the right price who are prepared to run through walls for him and/or the club.

I still see no merit in bringing that wanker here.

Not suggesting he does talk crap, he seems down to earth and gives an honest opinion, although in my eyes I don't think he's the right man for the Albion. I'm not saying we should dismiss him as I want to be proved wrong. The Albion do have contacts, although recently we've had some crap such as Savage, Hawkins, Jarrett and Davies, although we've signed better quality in McNulty and last season Murray.

Yes he would be a big-name manager but Paul Ince would have been as well if he got the job here in February. Although I do agree with you saying that we should be signing players who are prepared and commited to the Albion cause and ultimatley get us promoted from League 2 next season.

Inspired. If you want the whole of the rest of Division 4 to hate us.

Dennis Wise is a complete w4nker who fortunately would see the Albion as beneath him so would do a Paul Ince and wait for another opportunity to fcuk people off somewhere else.

Why on earth call Slade a wanker?

He's hardly got the track record of Dennis Wise in that category - attacking taxi drivers, breaking a team-mate's jaw etc. A complete shit - would rather have virtually anyone as manager than him.
