Well for someone who is all about the football he has left you lot right in the s*** as the season starts in 4 weeks and what player would sign for a club where the manager has not yet committed.

No because he is committed jack Harrison has resigned in his interview “can’t wait to work again with Marcelo” there is no stress at all he’s taking training, pictures walking around in Leeds training gear.

Because he isn’t about the money etc, him & his staff are still taking preseason training as usual. It’s not about the money to Bielsa it’s the all about the football first which is why his contracts take a while to sort because he’s too interested in the football side of things.
Fair enough then - but haven't several of his staff just left?

No he has 3/4 staff that follow him everywhere he goes if he stays they stay. Cobaran was already at Leeds when he arrived & agreed to take him on. He was predominantly with the u23’s but was on the bench for first team matches also, the only other guy that has left is an u23’s analyst

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
Yes he has, Corbaran was mainly u23’s coach who also helped on matchdays & was already at Leeds when Bielsa came. Bielsa has 4/5 assistants that work under him

3 of his assistants have gone to Huddersfield with Corbaran, including the Performance Analyst.
Corbaran was his translator.

Poch has said very clearly, previously, that under no circumstances would he ever manage Barcelona, Arsenal or Rosario

Saw that quote yesterday too. Player and manager of Espanyol, though he is friends with Barca president, who's cornered right now. Could he be pursuaded?

Another potential element is not only has Messi called for Bielsa, Pochetino has also waxed lyrical about him. Not inconceivable to see Barca approaching poch, poch reiterating he can't because of his past, but then also telling his friend, El Presidente that he should look at Bielsa.

We can but hope!

Living in fantasy & delusion. More imaginary contract rejections (no facts of course).

Be interesting to see how their narrative changes once Ben signs an extension.

https://twitter.com/adamclarke19/status/1294556160138321920

It is likely that White has turned down a contract extension, only a fool or Leeds fan would take the first offer. White and his agent will have their own valuation, Brighton will also have their one. Chances are they will agree between the two.
If White was desperate to go to Leeds, he would have already informed the club that he wanted away, this would be a silly move by him. Brighton have invested the time along with the club's that he has been loaned out to. Remember Brighton have not paid any money for him, it's up to then if they accept a bid from another club and are willing to let him go, if not be can stay on his current wages and either be loaned out again or play for the U23.I

I'm confused. Has Jack Harrison resigned or re-signed?

As has been pointed out ad nauseam on here and elsewhere he is widely regarded by peers as something else when it comes to player development but he is also famously erratic, pedantic and eccentric and has shown himself to be capable of prolonged periods of turgid and indifferent performances by some of his (very capable) teams.

He took quite a lot of persuading to take Ben White on loan and there seems to have been something of an exodus from the Leeds coaching staff despite a competent promotion campaign.

He’s definitely a bit of an odd bod which is why Leeds and their weird fans are having such a love in.

And he STILL hasn’t committed to them despite pre season starting this week. All very strange.

he certainly has a bit of a maverick factor about him, but yes, he's been very inconsistent throughout his career. also left some of his previous clubs in very acrimonious circumstances. I think leeds fans genuinely expecting him to put together a top 10 challenge with that squad will be sorely disappointed, but he does have an understanding of the game that far surpasses most of the other managers in the league

That’s nonsense, Bielsa has completely changed the culture of the club from the layout of the training ground pretty much designing it to way he wants it, has the club built around his whole ethos. If promises are made to him & kept there is no ticking time bomb. He left lazio because what they had promised was a lie. He’s a man of principle & is humble. He paid 2m out of his own money to build newells a training ground, he lives in a flat above a shop. Bielsa prefers his squads to be 18 senior players with the rest from the youth teams. So the u23’s are constantly training with the first team learning his methods which is why we’ve had so many debuts over the past 2 years they know the system inside out & he has full faith in the kids ability to just slot in.

Now put that against Hughton & potter and ask yourselves would they be brave enough to have at least 10 players under 20 make their debuts while he’s been in charge. They answer is no they wouldn’t that’s why he’s got the reputation he has because it’s brave. Doesn’t always come off like many say “he’s never won anything” but he goes to do it his way making players along the way. I.e Ben white, Benjamin Mandy, Andre Herrera, etc

With all due respect, giving ten players under 20 their debuts in the Premier League would be foolhardy rather than brave. Although I believe Potter did give nine under-20s their debuts in the 3-1 defeat by Aston Villa in the League Cup.

Three this season. However, Brighton have nearly 30 players out on loan. Only Chelsea have more. If ever Leeds want a chat about academies then ask Tony Bloom. Yours is now classed as category 1, ours reached that status six years ago. Potter was brought in because he indeed does play youngsters. But that is easier to do in the Championship than upstairs.

Not sure what Hughton has got to do with anything - he is not our manager.
Graham Potter gives young players a chance so you are barking up the wrong tree mate.

“Barcelona just doesn’t have the same appeal as Leeds United”

Suuuuurre

The full quote that you manipulated is:

'Bielsa is a romantic & a champion of what previously seemed a lost cause. That’s why he was attracted by Leeds. Barcelona are in decline but not enough to have the same appeal'

Which is a fair point and the reason why I wouldn't expect him to go.

Typical leeds fan post. Stick to commenting on your own club because you know very little about ours.

T making players along the way. I.e Ben white,

Oh FFS.

As we have established (endlessly) on this thread, he clearly didn't 'make' Ben White.

I am interested to hear about Bielsa. I Iike unusual characters in the game and especially ones that are driven by things other than money and who have principles. But you undermine the story with statements like this that we simply know not to be true and leave me wondering what else is being exaggerated (or just plain made up).

... and Villa played their first team. Just to prove the point.

you make it sound like that's revolutionary; Gus Poyet did that to use in 2009 when he took over - completely changed how the club was run and how we approach things. That ended well.

Bielsa = Poundland Poyet
