Some predictable responses here. Most forget just how good he was under Pochettino.

In Dele's own words Mourinho destroyed any self belief he had. And Dele wouldn't be the first player Jose has done this to. See Lukaku, Shaw, Cuadrado, Altintop, Diarra, Sahin, Mata and Salah at Chelsea. Long list of players.

Our conveyor belt is stacked with up and coming attacking midfielder / second striker types, including Sarmiento, Kozlowski, Moran, Everitt, Emmerson and - hopecully - Enciso, so why on earth would we break our wage structure and block the path of youth on a bloke who has been low on confidence for years?

None of those players (except possibly Sarmiento) are going to have any progress blocked by Alli being here for six months. And I guarantee all of them would be delighted about the prospect of training with him.

..six months? Thought we were talking about a transfer. Cant see the club loaning him (at least not without the option to buy), would be pointless.

If the price was right and Potter and Ashworth fancy him then why not?

I know that Alli was (and possibly still could be) an absolute master of the late run into the box with an accurate goal scoring shot similar to a Cahill or Lampard.

I’m really not sure if he passing game is up to Potter standards but I could be very wrong.

Because they’d all look so brilliant by comparison? Mourinho said on camera in that documentary that he was lazy in training,

These aren't the players you're looking for.

Zero chance unless he’s prepared to take a MASSIVE cut in wages.

This seems to be a common belief, but may now be an outdated one.

Our wage structure may be ripe for revision now we have a squad with several players we could sell for £50m+.

The increased income from regular sales significantly reduces the risk of an increased wage bill.

The common consensus is that GP is squeezing every ounze of potential out of the players at his disposal. Therefore the only way to improve further would be to employ better quality players. Players who demand higher salaries than we currently pay.

It's not inconceivable that we are now prepared to do this.

a. Can't believe he's only 25.

b. Why is he a dickhead? I don't follow football as much as I used to and this has passed me by.

He looks as if he can't be arsed at Spurs on the money he's probably getting there so I really can't see him putting in a performance here for surely less wages. Undoubtedly a talent in there somewhere but comes across as being a bit of a nob. Will / could Potter bring the best out of him,who knows but if he came to us on big money what does that do for dressing room / club harmony? Not for me thanks but it's not my money!

Quality when his head is right. However wages is out of our league.

And we simply dont loan players.

We have plenty of No10s in the squad already trying to get a game.

Agreed. What I mean is that, assuming it was an initial half season loan, he’s really not going to be blocking any of those players progress. If he is disappointing we won’t sign him, if he is a revelation then signing him is a no brainer and absolutely nobody is going to complain about him hindering our youngsters development. They didn’t with Lallana, or Wellbeck etc

Scores too many goals for me, I prefer my midfielders to hit row Z rather than the back of the net :moo:

In all honesty I can't see why a 6 month loan would be a bad option for either party. Would be a good signing, I think he's quite popular in the dressing room and a bit of a joker, just perhaps not too dedicated a trainer but after Mourinho it's hardly surprising as he would have sucked any football related joy out of him by either not playing him or if he would play him he'd then slag him off post match or hook him at half time.

Seems like he has an attitude about him which is something non of our players have, the ones that fall into that category have been shipped out so would be amazed if we sign him.
