I plan to have a normal night out tomorrow and do not want to pay £15 for a shit midnight buffet and a ropey DJ. So, to aid my evening, can people please list Brighton/Hove pubs open on NYE which do not charge or have tickets.

Danke x

I walked past the Hove Park Tavern earlier they have the Hangleton sound machine performing.

Hangleton is a suburb of Hove Meg, no entry fee though, they may charge an exit one.

Judging by a recent survey which suggested that 80% of people interviewed said they would be drinking either alone at home with family or at a party at someones house so that the expected busy pub nights as were, will not happen this year.

I must admit that since leaving the last pub we have never been out on a NYE always spent it at my sister in laws house at a party that she hosts.

I will be in bed by 11pm ready for the football on New Year's Day. The night is an absolute rip-off, can't move to a different pub and WHY feel so bad to start 2013? :)

Spoons are putting door staff on at all their pubs, who will be throwing people IN

The whole shebang is over-commercialised now, and to take a taxi home requires going into Greek style debt, but there is the distinct possibility of getting a random snog with a ladeeeeeeeeeee...

So it's swings and roundabouts at the end of the day, nay, year

First time I will stay in for as long as I can remember

This. Just cannot justify spending the money anymore on NYE.

Fees to get in, taxi's 3 times the normal amount, half an hour queues to get a drink because the pub/bar is so packed, waking up feeling like death, celebrating a new year which will be worse than the previous one economically... f*** right off NYE!

Indeed, the New Year starts with a loss of just under £1K as Child Benefit is taken away after 07th January
