Most seem to be in shock but having had time to think it through and putting aside (hard I know) the shitty way it appears to have been handled, was it the right thing to do for the Albion?

I'm really torn on this but reckon if DW does stay it could work really well once the dust has settled.

What exactly did wilkins do wrong. As far as I can see (and I accept that I can't know the full facts) he is paying the price for DK's poor contract negotiation skills.

Nope, it's a shocking decision. Wilkins has taken us forward, built a side that needed relatively little added to it, to make us genuine contenders for promotion. We finished 7th ffs, not 17th, but we decide to shat on him from a great height.

I thought we had more class than that.

I assume we will never hear Dick Knight comlain about a lack of loyalty again. This time round I wont complain if Adams chose to jump ship at the first better offer he receives, because we could do anything to our managers in return. Yep, look out for yourself Micky, because "knives and backs" is the favoured game in our boardroom.

Yes.

I hope Wilkins decides to accept the first team coach job, because he knows these players and still has a role to play in their development, but as far as asking whether Adams is right to be manager, an unequivocal 100% yes from me.

I know they (who the hell are 'they' anyways?) say 'never go back', but I have a good feeling on this one.

Think it is great news. Wilkins is a good coach. Adams is a good manager.

100 percent behing this decision.

Got to be good times times ahead and Mickey should be able to attract some good players to join !!!!!

And I assume from your username that you would not have sacked Steve Gritt and brought in Micky last time. There was no doubting the magnificent work Gritt did but without that brave decision by Dick we would not have moved forward.

As much as i liked DW, he was not the man to take us forward. Just look at the apathy amongst the fans, even after the relatively good campaign we've just had. This will get the crowds back, the quality signings and the team spirit that we need.

A brave decision DK and I applaud you for it

In this murky football world we're lucky to have a chairman like Dick

MA is brilliant as a manager , has the personality and motivational skills needed to take us into the Championship. With his appointment we will attract the players needed to strenghthen the squad as it sends out a message we are going places. With him as boss, it is a pre cursor that will see Falmer become a reality , another piece in the jigsaw puzzle. I feel really sorry for Deano , as it came as a shot out of the blue. Everything will be turned upside down for him in the short term but once he has come to terms with it , I hope he becomes MA's 2nd in command as his forte is in coaching rather than a manager. As they say , life goes on , and we all have to adapt to new situations. The Chairman and the Board make decisions to progress the club and history will tell us when we look back whether it is the springboard to launch off into the good times. At the end of last season , the considered opinion of some NSCers was to give Deano until Xmas to prove himself , otherwise it would be DK doing an "Alan Sugar" on DW. Some NSCers also gave a timeframe of the end of this season before he would be replaced. At the end of the day its all about the club we support and not individuals. Lets get stuck in next season and rip this division apart and restore faith in the Albion.

This decision is a bit like Man City sacking Sven and bringing in Scolari - and opinion here's been fairly united on that one hasn't it?

If we have a successful promotion season next year, Adams will jump ship as soon as he gets a better offer from a bigger club. He did it before. Having said that, I did like his management style before and hopefully he can motivate the players. The treatment of DW by DK is still disgusting and he should hang his head in shame. I would be surprised if DW accepts the coaching job from the man who still has a knife in his back.

Football is a hard business.

What has happened could lead to Dean Wilkins becoming a very well paid first team coach-if it works out (and more importantly if he stays).

I hope he stays and we get the success we all want for The Albion-especially with Falmer not far away now.

When i first heard the news i was happy, but then did start to feel very sorry for DW as last season despite missing out on the play off's we made a big step foward, but the micky adams days are one of my first real good memorys of following the albion so on that note im happy for MA to be back But do want DW to stay.

I don't think he will. He will have learned from his time away from us.

Agreed. He has realised the grass isn't always greener...

And his main problem before was the lack of facilities and with Falmer now firmly on the horizon I can see him staying for a long time.

I would love to see some long-term stability now with Micky taking us forward to Falmer and beyong for at least the duration of his 3 year contract and hopefully much longer.
