Just wondered, like. Have you ensured that NSC has enough bandwidth for when the entire board goes completely mental (one way or ther other) over Prescott's stadium announcement?

It's just that I DEMAND to have my two'penneth on here when the balloon goes up.

Failing that, I may well go to Victoria Station that day. It will be quieter.

Note to self: Try not to sound to much like Angela Rowland when addressing the Ubergruppenfuhrer of the board.

I just hope there is a warning about when the decision is going to be made so I can book my place on the board in advance.

last time we pretty much knew the day before so it might be the same this time round (as in the rumours got amazingly hot and you just KNEW it was gonna happen)

Any forward planning to help keep the board online would be wise. Prehaps disabling smilies,, image attachments, etc for a day would help bandwidth?

Bandwidth is not an issue it is CPU usage on our box.

The box, which is all ours, is more than adequate for day to day NSC usage.

I'm afraid we might not know if it can cope until it is really stretched. I can pay some money to have the memory bumped up a bit but not sure that will make a huge difference.

I'll turn off everything I can when it happens (although if the board is overwhelmed and/or crashing I won't be able to get on either!)

From experience in work, its worth it - MySQL usually races itself out of memory when it gets heavy requests.

So how are we gonna do it? A thousand posts all saying "It's a YES" OR one official thread.

Or something. :p
