The team on that video performed week in week out , 1 place off the play offs . We've had to many changes in the last year or so and it's not working .

If anything that video does go someway to show that Poyet needs time to get things right and playing his game.

We were quite poor in Wilkins' first season and he turned things around nicely. 'tis a shame that things did not work out. Things were coming together and it would have been interesting to see where he was taking us, if it had not been ended prematurely.

The 07/08 season was good on the whole. The detractors of Wilkins were/are still determined not to give him credit for the work he put in and great strides he made. People used to moan about the diamond and negative tactics, but that home season was thoroughly enjoyable with a decent standard of football on show.

Couldn't agree more , to be honest i'd take him back as manager if he asked right now (ignoring the never go back rule) . But people make mistakes and Knight made a big mistake .

If Wilkins was sacked for finishing 7th, then you'd have a point. But it's been said time and again, that he was dismissed for a different reason.

you can pinpoint our current shithouse performances from the moment wilkins went - i never really liked the bloke, but its obvious that he got the best out of our young players as nobody else has got any of them playing anywhere near like they did that season. some of his signings were questionable, and the league was of a far worse standard that season that it has been since, but we were still a decent side that was broken up by board room politics

regardless of whether he had to go or not for off the pitch reasons, the fact of the matter is that knight gave the job to his old mate based on what he did seven years previously - it was adams coming in and raping all of wilkins good work that has left us where we are now

Wow Cox actually looks pretty decent compared to this season, although that's not hard.

Cox seems to be in every highlight as does Savage...

Why oh why did we let Savage walk when he WANTED to stay

Not really.

Under wilkins we performed well, achieved well. Since he was fired, whatever the reason, the team has failed to perform or achieve as well as they did. We are no better off without him, ergo, getting rid of him was a cock up.

So what if he was rude to the tea lady? So what if he spent time with the players that made up his starting team instead of the fringe players and they got upset with it? So what if he got involved in parts of negotiation that were not his?

Football, we are constantly told, is a results game. Wilkins was getting them. It's as much a cock up to let "backstage" issues cost us a winning, developing, progressing team, as it is to fire a manager who moves you from 18th one season to 7th the following (despite having to rebuild his squad in january).

Whatever the reason for firing Wilkins, it was a mistake.
