Must think his next 10 Christmases have arrived early now that he is playing regular football.

Personally I think he has done great. The thought of him playing in the first team at the beginning of the season didn't even cross my mind.

What does everyone think of him as a player...has he got a long term future in the 1st team ?

They are not doing him justice playing him on the right side of midfield.

He looked a lot better after Oatway went off and he was played in the centre.

I think he's been quality and has a little more height than the rest of our midfield which is a bonus. Looks better in the centre than out on the right!!

I agree that he should be playing centre but he won't get in there ahead of Chippy or Alexis. I like this prblem though, we have a lot of solid midfielders and when all fit Oatway won't be anywhere near the first team (I hope).

We just need to find a bit of room for Jarret to get in the side and I'll be a happy man.

He was my man of the match on Saturday. Didn't put a foot wrong. Just needs a little more confidence to get forward every now and then. Obviously he's been in the gym as he's twice the size he was 2 seasons ago. But what an improved player he is.

Agree apart from the Jarret comment, I have seen very little from him so far to suggest he is good enough at this level

His poor attempts at getting the ball from one of the ballboys at half time during the Cardiff match did pose some questions.

On a serious note though, I think Jarret gives us another option with his pace and willingness to take players on. Apart from his spell during the Cardiff match I have been impressed with his contributions so far.

Once Jarret gets a bit more time on the pitch and learns to use the all rather than run into trouble I think he can become a very effective player, he is raw talent and needs games to improve. His pace is incredible and he's not afraid to run at people, maybe only usefull as a sub now but with a bit of guidance I see him becoming a regular on the wing for us.

He has been outstanding so far and has been very unlucky not to score yet. Another masterstroke from Mark McGhee. He looks composed on the ball, good in the air, can pass well and is and is a hard tackler. Good work fella.

I don't think it was a masterstroke as such. A lot of people (myself included) had been saying he should be in the team for a while. I can't believe he played both Virgo & Hinsh in centre midfield before Hammond got his chance

Fair point, maybe masterstoke was a bit OTT. I think how all the younger players have performed is a credit to MM for giving them the chance and self belief, something Coppell didn't seem to do.

Dean has done a great job for us this season! Agree though that he should be in the middle of the park although he does ok on the right.

But they're all two years older now. I think that's made a huge difference.

Also why are people slagging Oatway? I thought he was excellent yesterday and it was a shame he had to go off.

Agree on both counts.

Oatway has been superb this season, seems to relish the Captains role too which is a bonus for when Danny's out.

I too thought Oatway did a good job. Just his sort of game against players low on confidence whose first touch is poor and they need a little extra time on the ball. Take too long and Charlies got you. Only slightly less convinced by Hammond Satdi on the right to be honest, lacks concentration I think sometimes in the same way as McPhee used to, occsasionally slow to react. Good prospect though and seen him have better games.

Hammond has been adequete wide-right, but has looked better in his natural position of centre midfield.

It will be interesting to see what McGhee does when Nicolas is fully fit, especially with Hart coming on and playing well vs. Leeds.

Overall, for a rookie he has done really well and we need to keep giving him gametime.

However, let's be honest, there is room for improvement as regards scoring goals and getting forward to support the strikers.

I thought he was superb when he was thrown into the team against Watford (was that his first game or was it Preston?), keeping the Watford midfield quiet, and driving forward, and was very unfortunate not to score. He was excellent on Saturday, after a few quiet games.
