Deam Hammond - played well IMO.

I thought that the midfield looked a lot more competitive when Hammon came on. However, I was surprised the Nicolas went off and not Charlie.

I hope McGhee starts him against Reading. At least he seems to be willing to get in the box and have a go.

That he did, always looked for a pass to feet, and is a decent footballer. Also offers a bit of offensive agression in the centre of midfield, should play as part of a three against Reading.

Well, I was trying to be positive, but when they announced the MOM, I was struggling to think of someone who had played well for the whole game.

Being honest, Butters had a poor game. But, that's the first bad game I've seen from him for a long time. Harding was poor first half, and Oatway was not in the game at all.

Shabaan doesn't seem to inspire confidence, which considering his comments a couple of weeks ago (about playing at a higher level, etc), is quite surprising.

On a positive note, Reid played well and Knight always looked creative. McCammon did OK too.

Hammond did very well. Virgo played O/K too, in fact he looked more of a striker than he ever has.

Hammond should be the natural replacement for Chippy, he was good tonight and deserved his goal, he should start on Monday against Reading. Oatway and Nicolas are far too similar and it really dont work with both of them playing in a 2 man centre midfield.

I think Hammond is a good player and should get in the team, he always finds a good position in the box as he did last night when he scored, got to play against Reading.........

As well as supporting the forward he has some height which we were sadly lacking in midfield last night.

Hope he starts against reading

Hammond is a box to box player which is what we des[parately need. NONE of the midfield including Chippy and Leon get ahead og=f the front two. That is what Hammond adds to the team and with the likes of Sidwell in the Reading side we need that to counterbalance them.

Oatway last night was appalling. The worst game he has had for us. If i had a gun i would've had him put down last night. A criminal performance in every sense.

Thought Hammond looked very good when he came on. He's big and powerful and need someone like that to beef up the midfield.

Start him on Monday ?........Definately

hammond has always been good when he has played this season in the midfield. He came on and did well a great header from the cross. He is very box to box and also wins lots of headers as he is tall and his passing is better than most !!!

From what I've seen of the game Shaaban din't do anythin wrong and made a few good saves. And the defence looked fine with him against Sunderland. Think it's more a case of a defence getting jittery when the concede five goals...it takes time to recover that confidence. And I do think there has been some complacency sneaking in after the Sunderland game.

Shabaan has really proved nothing yet... whether he's great or crap but he's definately better than May or Yelldall... our problems lie elsewhere.

i think most people have wanted hammond to be a regular for the last 2 seasons.

I simply cant understand what he has to do to be given a chance.

Id go for him for oatway too- maybe a 5-3-2 with chip, nicolas and deano in the cm roles.

Oh dear, I think somebody will be along in a minute to give us a long winded account of why Oatway should never be dropped.

I don't have to UB, I just wait for the team sheet every week and when its announced, I have a quiet chuckle. I expect to be doing the same next Monday :) Do you?
