I would expect it to be a lot less than that... they often offer less than half of the average... so I would guess at around £50,000 or perhaps even less.
And how many people would hand £50,000 back on the toss of a coin?
On this occasion it was as low as £17,500...

It's irritating, because the banker isn't an independent banker that's playing each game in isolation, so you get stupidly low offers.

It depends on the player. Could be a little as £ 20000, could be as much as
£ 110000. The most ridiculous decision I saw when a bloke with £ 50000 and
£ 250000 left turned down £ 160000 and ended up with £ 50000.

I think people are ignoring the desire of the production team to keep the player in the game. Ideally they want to pitch an offer so it's just under the amount the contestant would accept. That way the contestant agonises over a decison before continuing with the gamble.

I agree. You can argue the maths till the cows come home but there comes a time when the amount of money GUARANTEED (60K, in this case) makes it not worth taking any further gambles. 60K is definitely that tipping point for me, maybe even earlier iin the process.

No she dealt earlier in the game at £ 17500, when the last 2 boxes were 1p and £ 250000 the banker offered her the bankers gamble, give back £ 17500 and open the box with a chance of losing £ 17500 and a chance of gaining an extra £ 232500.

I would have dealt at £60k with those 3 boxes left as the outcome is theoretical , if I was a gambler or thought I was a lucky bastard then it wouldn't have been tempting enough.
