It's OK but I'd say Rome, The Wire and the Sopranos are all better offerings by HBO
The language is really choice and Lovejoy's Ian McShane proves to be a pretty good actor. I enjoyed series One but struggled after that as it gets very samey after a while. Not dissing it though.

Season 1 is excellent and well worth a watch. Kept up with 2 but interest did start to wane after.

Think I might give Season 1 (only) a punt then based on replies.
Am a big fan of The Wire and Sopranos so will definately check out Rome too, based on your recommendation, Icy Gull!

DON'T buy Season 1 for £17! YOu probably already know this, but it's going for £13 on Amazon - and I've seen in cheaper than that if you hang/look around. You can get all 3 seasons for £29 on Amazon which seems like a bit of a bargain. I only know because it's a series I keep meaning to watch - supposed to be amazing! £29 is a lot for a blind buy, but if it's only a tenner more than what you're paying for 3 times the content it seems a good deal!
