Hmm. We have suffered but so have many others. there are only 5 teams in current injury list with less than 6. Albion have 10, but that is not exceptional and for much of the season we have been about average in injury numbers. Agreed that the loss of Solly and Mitoma has been particularly harmful, but others have lost key players too, without being crippled.
‘key’……March and Mitoma were pivotal, not just in terms of their ability but how we look to play. We also missed Pervis pairing with Mitoma so even when Mitoma was fit he was doubled up on. Newcastle are similar to us in terms of injuries and have also fallen a few places (and failed in Europe).

That’s the bit that really grates, and the ‘we need to learn’….. well, perhaps we do, but Luton, Fulham, Roma, and repeating the same errors would suggest that some need to learn (and adapt) more than others.
From reading this thread we find out Roberto cant get us results because we sold our two world class central midfielders and our two top class wingers are out injured. Basically the excuse for Roberto is he cant win games without a world class midfield ok fine but a lot of other managers would also win us games with a world class midfield for us its more about who can do things without that

Fits their succession planning better as well if they pull it off. They were keen to announce Nagelsmann this month, if they get Zidane, it can all be announced and sorted before the end of the season - wouldn't be the case with RDZ.
Although I agree, what's been weird about us is that we've had complete positions wiped out.

This is where I point out point average from October and you respond with saying we scored five goals against Sheffield. From a month of NSC main take away is that we can lose all the rest of our games and the cult members will point at the three or four good results we got this season
The success of a season is measured by where we finish at the end not how many points we gained during an arbitrary period. From October until only a few weeks ago we were dogged by probably the worst injury crisis in the club's history, on top of an already imbalanced squad and European football. Despite those obstacles we will still have a very respectable position at the end of the season.

We will see what Tony decides to do. At the end of the season were likely to have carried relegation form (most seasons) for 32 games and while fans seem pleased about that I´m not sure being saved by handful of great games in August and September will be enough to save Roberto. Unless we win a couple of the last ones which looks very hard I think our poor run of form has been too long and with too few signs of any improvement to keep Roberto in his job. Keeping him for another season when he is in a massive slump that would have him sacked from most clubs is a big risk. If next season starts with a couple of poor results there would be panic and early manager change. Think Tony will just say bye bye to Roberto in the summer get a new voice and some belief into the team
