Why hasn't he been playing centre midfield all season?

Quality.

Because he hasn't looked that impressive in any of the other games, but to be fair to him he had a good game tonight.

He's looked better than Thomson to be honestl I'm suprised he hasn't got more of a chance so far.

Do you mean the Thomson who was a revelation going forward and showed what he can really do tonight. It must be remembered that we had 5 men in midfield to night so that meant 1 holding midfielder(EL Abd) and 2 central 1 to sit in the centre (Livermore) and 1 to bomb forward (Thomson) plus 2 wide men in Fraser and Loft could we afford that luxury every week. I would suggest that possibly Fraser and Loft will be replaced by Forster and Anyinsah on Saturday if all are fit, harsh but likely.

Because we've been accomodating Adam Virgo in central midfield. I really hope Adams gives Livermore an extended run in that position. The only other time I have seen him start in that position was a home game (Orient? Scunthorpe?) when I thought he was our best player in the first half, only to see him substituted at half time.

He totally freed up Thomson who played one of his best games in the blue and white. Fingers crossed it's Thomson and Livermore on Saturday.

PS - we won't play 4-5-1. There's no way we will not start with Murray and Forster when both are fit.
