Did anyone hear David Gold this morning talking about the Birmingham FC takeover, he suggested that him, Brady and Sullivan are looking into investing in a southern club exclusively when they leave.

Not suggesting its the Albion (but who knows?) but lets hope its not Palace!

I love Karen Brady, met her a few times and has some cracking stories. Running a football club as a woman from the age of 23...! Funny stories about when she went to some away games early on, and was put in the 'Directors WAG' box as she was not allowed in with the male directors

Apart from the fact we seem to have a great set up with Tony Bloom at the Albion, I for one would love Gold and Brady at our club. Just look what they've done at Birmingham.

Didn't he say a while back in the Argus that he would like to invest in Brighton after Birmingham?

Doubt it will be us now though seen as Mr Bloom:bowdown: has only just taken over.

You could see why Brighton would be more attractive now - guaranteed ground, advantageous debt structure, potential, no legacy issues. Bloom could well want other serious investors in the club to help bolster the finances above and beyond the ground.

But I would suspect these two will be looking for a bigger club from the off.

It would mirror the current structure at Birmingham if Gold and Brady came on board with Bloom in the David Sullivan role. I would say they are real football people and they would have a lot in common with Bloom - could be a marriage made in heaven

They'll be buying The Hammers methinks. I've got a bit of time for Karen Brady (the girl done good), but Sullivan & Gold make my skin crawl.

and am I right in thinking that Gold hates Palace (and vice versa ) and no way the tangoman would do business with him?

West Hams a good shout I reckon

Its never going to happen (but) if it did it would explain Golds frequent visits to Withdean over the last couple of seasons, either that or he was simply sniffing around the club.

The problem with West Ham must be the debt they are in (37 million according to the press) and this may put a few investors off. He did specifically state that it was a southern club they are definetly interested in as he did'nt want to be travelling too far to watch the games.

Does'nt he live in Hurstpierpoint????

Brighton factually.....
I do kinda think Bloom & Gold could work
We have Bloom for the stadium :falmer:
Now some Gold to buy some decent players :albion2:

You know it just may work

I agree, but like others I can't see it happening for a number of reasons. However IF it could be made to work it would be brilliant; after all, once we're at Falmer we are going to need serious investment in the team, Tony Bloom's stumping up the best part of 100 million quid to pay for the stadium (and underwrite our continuing losses at Withdean), so I can't see him putting in too much more. Involving Gold and Brady, decent football people with an excellent track record, would be ideal.

Of course there would be all the egos and who owns what who does what etc etc to be sorted out which is partly why it will remain a fantasy.
