[News] David Duckenfield attempts to get his prosecution stayed.

This may have gone under the radar, but last week an application was made to have the prosecution against David Duckenfield for manslaughter ‘stayed’. This was turned down by a judge at Preston Crown court , where the trial will take place on January 14th. Which is the same date incidentally, as Andrew Hill will start his trial at the Old Bailey.

Yes, I did read it, but fortunately, the judge at Preston turned it down.
There probably was no good legal reason to stay the trial.

Probably hoped for a judge who was a "homer" (mason) and would favour an incompetent ex-copper. Fortunately they are few and far between these days.
