how come madrid won the title when barca have 21 goal diff better and te same points?

because its based on head to head record and Mardid beat Barca home and drew at the Camp Nou

spain do it different with a head to head record. if two teams are level on points, the team who got a better result against the other are ahead

i find it a bit shit really

Why?
Man U win 44 games.
Chelsea win 44 games.
Chelsea lose to Arsenal and Liverpool.
United lose to Chelsea twice.
United beat Readings reserve team on the final day of the season 16-0, finish with a higher goal difference than Chelsea, and thus win the league.

Is that fair?

The rule makes sense if you ask me, although obviously there's a fair argument to keep our system.

Also, their method means the teams should really go for it in the big games against their main rivals as the result has a direct affect on their chances in the league, so the top games should be more exciting, rather than cagey dull affairs like we get served up...
