I think Kitson would be ok, experience at this level is one thing we are seriously lacking and he has it in spades....I think he would suit CMS game down to the ground. Football is all about finding the right combinations not about individuals.

inclined to agree, I think. In theory. Maybe. Tbh, the amount of possible/probable/fantasy ins/outs this window's seriously making my head hurt  :albion2:

He's a little bit of a sensitive boy, is Dave. Remember this?

Reading striker Dave Kitson has hit out at the club and supporters for organising a "ginger day" tribute for Saturday's final home game of the season against West Brom. Fans are planning to wear ginger wigs and orange t-shirts as a tribute to flame-haired Kitson and his ginger-haired team-mate Steve Sidwell. Reading have been encouraging supporters to participate in the occasion and even announced that a local shop will sell ginger wigs at a discount. But Kitson has accused the club of being "discourteous" by failing to ask his permission.

"I have spent all of my time going to places like Ninian Park and the New Den just getting harassed about the colour of my hair to the point where you want to fight back.

"So the last thing I need is 15,000 people, all in ginger wigs, drawing attention to it," he said.

"What would happen if it was two black players? Would the club ask the fans to do the same thing? It does cause offence to me and I would like to thank the club for not even asking me if I minded. I feel they should have had the courtesy of asking me.

"I know the fans mean well and it's all in fun. I hope they enjoy themselves but from my point of view it's something I can do without," Kitson told Reading's Evening Post.

I'm not sure Dave, I think Kitson would probably be the better bet out of the two for now, and equally I'm pretty sure neither would be as hopeless as Paynter was. They're not going to get us 20 goals a season, but if they did the job of holding the ball up so that Mackail-Smith gets the 20, and then pitch in with 10-15 themselves, then that's job done, isn't it?

Kitson has always been a whiny, temperamental, easy-to-wind-up individual, but if he joins us, then he's our whiny, temperamental, easy-to-wind-up individual, and I shall support him in spite of his dirty Pompey past.

I dont particularly like him but do like his style of robust play and if Gus thinks he is the answer to our goalscoring problems I am happy to go with that and I am sure that TB will find the money if needed for him or any other signing without saying we have x amount available for fees etc.

I'd rather we brought Holroyd back frankly, plus why would he come unless we were offering similar to the 20k/week he's on at pompey, in which case why is Gus moaning about our wage structure? If that were to go through then he needs to be quietly taken out back and shot.

That about sums you up Holroyd wouldnt be good enough for our DS. now. Kitson is proven at Championship level, whether you like him or not.
