OK he doesn't look like £17m or whatever the spuds spunked on him, but he's scoring for fun at the moment.

It saddens me that bagpuss has improved the situation at Spurs. I don't like him much and I was enjoying laughing at Tottenham "we should be challenging the top 4" Hotspur.

Can someone please reassure me that bagpuss is a bit of a bungtastic one-trick pony and Spurs will soon be sliding back into obscurity once more?

I think the only way for them is up at the minute, maybe we can just laugh at Newcastle now

I'll be honest, the appointment of fat Joe Kinnear was indeed significantly more comical.

So yes, chuckling at the barcodes remains top priority.

I'm really PISSED off about the Spurs revival to be honest. Just ONE MORE thing to dislike Redknapp for.

Simster , you should surely be liking Harry for the way he shafted The Scum twice. I never had much time for him but all his references to managing a big club have been winding the skates up no end.

Long may it continue

I think it's good that Harry has sparked a revival at Spurs, they were drawing all the joke club attention away from the Toon

Of course they have a good side Les. That's why their position was so funny.

Sorry, I will rephrase. They have a very good side. Their starting 11 is potentially a top 4. Except maybe the keeper.

don't be ridiculous. their starting eleven is far worse than villas and they're some way off the top 4.

they do have a good enough squad for top 8 though

Friedel
Young Laursen Davies Shorey
Reo-Coker Petrov Barry Young
Carew Agbonlahor

Gomes
Hutton Woodgate King Bale
Bentley Huddlestone Jenas Dos-Santos
Modric
Bent

I would say only Friedel, Barry and Young are better than their Spurs counter part. Spurs centre halves are better, full-backs about the same (although Bale has the potential to be better), Bentley is better than Reo-Coker, rest of the midfield about the same and up front about the same.

Good points well made there, Dougal. I hadn't thought of it that way. I'm sure there are scum skate twats all over the shop consoling themselves by telling everyone not already bored of hearing how MASSIVE Portsmouth can be, that he's only moved to Spurs to see if he can get another small club to Portsmouth's giddy heights.

And I was GUTTED to see Portsmouth win at Sunderland. I wonder whether they'd consider an Adams swap?

cuellar is the best centre back out of the two squads and you've forgotten him... shorey is far better than bale. milner you forgot aswell. agbonlahor is already better than bent and will only improve. and carew is a beast. friedel is probably the best keeper in the league, top 3 definitely. gomes is arguably the worst. and dos santos has not played many games, dunno why you've included him, probably just because he came from barcelona...

if tottenham want anything like top 6 they need a good central midfielder. a striker who will score 25+ goals. a new left back. a centre back who can start every week who isn't dawson and a goalkeeper who isn't actually worse than robinson.

Do behave Les. That XI is nowhere NEAR good enough for a tilt at top 4, even if they scrapped this season and started it all again tomorrow.

I can't help thinking Gomes is a far better keeper than we're giving him credit for. Redknapp has widely avoided criticising his keeper so as not to destroy his confidence and I think Spurs will see a better player as a consequence.
