My mates wife, Lucy Speed-Hayler is playing the mum in this. She used to be in EastEnders and The Bill, both of which were utter tramp so she's done right getting on this.

So what's it called? Listing has it as "Boy meets Girl" on at 9pm bbc2 tomorrow yet at the start of this thread it said it is called "cradle to grave"???
And no mention in the listing for boy meets girl that it has anything to do with Danny baker or Peter Kay????

My TV guide has Cradle To Grave at 9pm and Boy meets girl at 9.30pm

Not sure that Danny Baker's life story warrants becoming a major (or even a minor) BBC drama to be honest, any more than Lenny Henry's does

It's based on his very successful - and highly recommended - autobiography, so based on the sales of the book I guess the BBC disagree with you =0)

Fair enough. He's still not done very much to speak of tho eh, in the grand scheme of things. BBC will do anything on the cheap nowadays

Read the books and you will change your mind! Amazing life full of fortune and random encounters.

Shirley a good story well told is just that, irrespective of the source.

I'm certainly looking forward to this.

If you liked the book, you will love this. Some very funny moments and some nostalgia. It's now on BBC iPlayer

Bloody Worthing!
Yes agree - very nicely observed and rather sweet. The scene in the theatre alone was worth tuning in for (you'll know what I mean if/when you see it). And the whole thing is especially good if you are from roughly the same era as Danny Baker. Recommended - the 30 minutes went very quickly.

Did that actually happen? I mean, in the book? I've read it, not that long ago either, but I don't remember.

Yes it did, it's in the book.

Having loved the books and being such a big Baker-phile I was pretty nervous this could turn out a mess but it was fantastic. I'm not a big fan of Peter Kay but I LOLd and ROFLd pretty much every time he opened his mouth. Baker's dad is a fascinating, huge character.
