Sad news. Very courageous woman

Silly old bat
I remember her playing in an MPs team at Withdean when the Labour Party conference was on, and we were still lobbying for Falmer.
People who fight cancer don't consider themselves to be brave, but imo, she was very brave, especially the last speech she made.

Echo all the above adding just something from a speech she made earlier this year

"In the end, what gives a life meaning is not only how it is lived, but how it draws to a close," she said during her speech.
"I hope that this debate will give hope to other cancer patients, like me, so we can live well together with cancer, not just dying with it. All of us, for longer."

In the fight for Falmer, i wrote to her as my local MP for her support, knowing she was a key instigator in bringing the Olympics to U.K.
Her pa/asst wrote back to me saying she was aware of the campaign, supports it and will back (some motion in parliament ?)we had going on then.
An MP who directly did something for their constituent..

I remember one of our lot passed her in London at a train station on the way back from a game during the Campaign years when she was
Sports Minister and had a moan about our plight. I can't remember what she did as a result exactly, but her reply gave us all hope at a very
bleak time.

David Mackenzie Donald Mills (born 31 May 1944)[1][2] is a British corporate lawyer who specialises in international work for Italian companies. He was accused of money-laundering and alleged tax fraud involving Silvio Berlusconi; he was convicted in first instance and on appeal, but the conviction was quashed by the Supreme Court of Cassation. He was married to the Labour Party politician Tessa Jowell from 1979 until her death in 2018. Although they separated in 2006,[3] they had effectively reunited by 2012.[4]
