I hope he was taken down a side street and given a shoeing.
I mentioned the all nighter a few weeks ago. The half baked plan is head south, knock for Sir Julian, head south until the channel sends us eastward then turn north before Folkestone and head for home.
Does anyone know if the Southdown a route from Eastbourne to Winchester can be done all of main roads, just on track country?

There's a South Downs Way MTB route on Strava, 105 miles.
I know you can ride the route from Brighton to Winchester pretty much parallel with that route, I'm sure a poster in lesser Sussex will say much the same down to Kent, sorry I mean Eastbourne.
Off road that's easy. Thanks! Silky question where would be a good start, from Ditching Beacon?

Never ride the SDW from Eastbourne to Winchester. Ride it from Winchester to Eastbourne. The prevailing wind is from the west, so don't ride into it if you don't have to.
I done it about 10 years ago in 2 and a bit days. It's really enjoyable, but knackering on the triceps after about 80 miles. It's well sign posted, probably better now than back then too.

Gets the slums of West Sussex out of the way first too.
