I despair.

Were it not for the Albion I wouldn't drive too far.
Yet I still have a running joke with a college, who is somewhat similar to myself, about him not going anywhere.

For reasons too dull to mention, my recent MOT has been on my desk, all afternoon.
I noticed, last year, I only drove 7,000 miles in my little car, that I love.

My college has also recently got a new MOT so naturally I asked how many miles he'd done.
I then explained to him how he finds out!!

He comes back to me later and says "3,500 miles, I guess that means I ought to drive more".
(At least 2,000 of those are his 10 mile round trip commute)

I couldn't help myself and replied:-
"No you absolute f**king melt, it means you shouldn't own a 15 year old 2ltr diesel Peugeot estate, you f**king weapon".

I'm struggling to shake this and am trying to work out how much he spends for each mile travelled - does £3 sound reasonable?
I did say "if you had an electric car you'd have only needed to charge it 10 times last year! :)

Also I'm finally getting my winter bike back from Jnr.

So I'm on the look out for some winter tyres.
Probably 27mm, road specific, but with more than usual tread/grip.

If any deals appear please send them my way.
I got an email today from Planet X saying 20% off of EVERYTHING this weekend.

Knowing how much value Planet X ordinarily offer, that sounds like exceptional value if you can find what you're after this weekend.

Sorry I've no recommendations to go with it unfortunately.

Use the code 20LOVE at checkout

Been absentmindedly googling tyres, thinking I might just go old skool with Vittoria Pave's.

£25 a pop.

Been enjoying the return of the snow over here for the last week by getting the fat bike out.

Added in a little bushwhacking (bikewhacking?) too after losing the trail for a while.

Bloody dark here . . . Most car drivers are impatient and inconsiderate . . .need good lights.

I booted a car yesterday, woman on the wrong side of the road coming at me, turned right across my nose, I was turning left whether I wanted to or not.

Good on ya for giving them the boot though. Hopefully they'll consider that the next time they get behind the wheel of a killing machine.

After 2 punctures in 2 days I took the plunge and got my bike fitted with 2 Tannus solid tyres...

Quite pricey as sent the wheels off to be fitted but wow, stress free riding on the undercliff with all the sharp bits and no need to prepare for the dreaded pop...

Took a bit of getting used to as no cushion in the ride but after 3 or 4 rides seems natural now...

Peace of mind worth the price imo though probably not for the 'serious' cyclist

Can someone explain to me why this isn't a genius invention as I'm just about to shell £30 and the only thing stopping is wondering why the hell don't all back lights do this.

I took a test ride on one of those in Bordeaux some years ago. I rode a short distance and concluded it was actually quite dangerous. It was the most awkward and unstable bike I've ever ridden.

Stop flirting with me - I can't afford it.

I remember going into the shop with the intention of buying one. It would have been one of those holiday purchases, and I was about to justify it by thinking I could use it to get to work from London Bridge. My mistake was to actually ride it before I bought it. Schoolboy error.

I've got nowhere else to put this

I wonder if there's an escalator at the gym so they don't have to worry about walking upstairs?

Finally getting some enthusiasm for riding again after a few long, dark, months where my mental health was in the gutter & I just didn't want to do anything, or see anyone. Couldn't even be bothered to watch any Grand Tours etc as I was so run down.
Had some blood tests done recently and they found I had a big Vitamin D deficiency, and also suffer from SAD, but now I've been on the pills for a couple of weeks I am feeling a bit better.
My fitness is at ground zero, but Im just enjoying little rides every now and again when its not too wet or windy, and not worrying too much about it.
Its nice to be back out, but my outlook on riding has changed a lot recently, and Im a long way from the Lycra warrior I was 6 months ago. Quite happy to just trundle along the trails on the old banger enjoying the views now, rather than looking at a screen and my average speed etc. while battling cars - & if I dont feel like going out, Im not beating myself up about it!

Glad you’re getting out again. I buggered my shoulder at work back in August and haven’t been on the bike since. A few walks now and again. It made me fast forward my plan to semi retirement, and I will finally be free of the rat race. Gonna try and get my mojo back once I’m free early next year. Im sure it’s gonna hurt. 😂
