ROUND 5, WORTHING, 1-2 AUGUST.

Taking my youngest out to this Saturday PM - he had a go at the London Bike Show & loved it. Only doing the kids freebie session as registration for the races was closed when I checked, but still good fun anyway. Gully & Sid the Shark are doing a mascot race at 11.15 on the Saturday too I think....carnage beckons!

Been searching gumtree for a cheap hack as suggested a few days ago - found this for £50 in Bognor....thoughts?

http://www.gumtree.com/p/bicycles/racing-bike/1126392452

If I were looking at a £50 bike, beyond the frame being sound, I'd like to know everything is takeoffable.

So I'd be making sure all the nuts and bolts were ok with no 'how the hell do I get that off' oddities.
Ebay will have any components and cables you might need.

I'd imagine you could make that or any bike of that ilk look considerably better just with a half decent saddle (new or second hand) new bartape, and a jollop of T-cut.

If anyone is interested, Planet X have a massive summer sale on at the moment. Just bought a pair of Carnac gel gloves for £2.99 (reduced from £36) and a few other bits (inc. a cable lock for 79p!!) for the grand total of £16 inc. postage....worth a look!

Nice one, thanks. Picked up some new Carnac road gloves and a three-pack of socks for £13 all in, bargainous.

In other purchasing-related news, for anyone that's a Tesco Clubcard holder Evans have now signed up to the Clubcard Boost scheme, and you can double the value of your Clubcard vouchers by taking them in Evans vouchers instead. I generally don't find Evans to be particularly cheap but they do a good price match - just bought a Hamax Kiss child seat for my bike using £22.50 of Clubcard vouchers after I got them to price match another website to bring the price down from £54 to £45.

That looks brilliant, but a bit late for this year. Are you considering 2016?

In a word, NO!

Guys, I want to ride to the match on Sunday. Used to do it on my old bike but now I'm used to a decent bike am not sure what to do. Will it be ok locked in the bike rack by the north stand? Is there any security?!

Matt Prior's One Pro team apply for UCI Pro-Continental licence

One Pro Cycling - the team founded by former England wicketkeeper Matt Prior - have applied for a Pro-Continental licence for second-tier UCI events.

If granted, the team will be Britain's first Pro-Continental team as Team Sky moved immediately to World Tour level, the top tier, when founded in 2009.

One Pro had an impressive first season, finishing second in the UK Tour series.

Prior said it was "another small step towards our ambition to participate in the biggest races in the world".

The 33-year-old, who is a keen cyclist himself, set up the team in December.

One Pro's roster is led by Welshman Yanto Barker and includes Jon Mould, Chris Opie and Marcin Bialoblocki.

I don't take my 'special' bike to games, but then again I never take it anywhere if I am not going to be with it ALL the time. Have youm still got your old bike? Use that!

There is only one answer here.

The correct number of bikes to own is N+1

You need to go and buy a decent bike for riding to the Amex.
