My latest project.

A 1980 Peugeot touring bike.

I'll be stripping it down, possibly respraying if the paintwork can't be saved, applying new decals, cleaning down and polishing the chrome and generally loving it.

Lost its original front wheel, but other than that all appears in order. Having a bugger getting the handle bars off at the moment.

Hope to have it on the road in time for autumn spins.

May have been quicker to list those that hadn't doped!!?
Or said:-

'well we would give you the list, but as none of it is surprising, we won't bother'.

Who knew?

Lets just not bother testing all these past samples from that era, it really is a waste of time. We all know they doped, let's just try and get on with keeping cycling clean now, there really is nothing to be gained from finding out what we already knew.

Still at least football didn't get a free pass, this time:-

'Why did footballer player Didier Deschamps get a private hearing?'

I think it was worthwhile as it plants a seed in those who are doping now. They know they won't get caught now but may have their samples retested.

Pantani and ullrich is the least surprising piece if news since Di Luca!

Fantasy San Sabastian comp is open. You'll need to select it from the competition tab to pick your team.

My provisional team, which I'll probably go with anyway in light of it being a lottery and that it works out on the dot credit wise, is:

Young Luxembourger - very lively in the one of those desert races at the beginning of the season.
Angry man from TdF, might be after a second win here to make a point.
Massive young talent that simply has it all. Proven in classics already this season.
French rider on a Belgium classics team.
Belgium classics type rider on a team that doesn't quite know what it is.
French rider, French team, didn't ride TdF this year but seems to be in half decent form.
Young carrot. On home soil and seems to be coming into form for Vuelta.
Also on home soil. Was poor in TdF yet his team did well. Poor form but seems to like this race.
A Dane, who like a very similar rider, Michael Albasini, I always seem to think is an Australian for some odd reason.

Should be easy enough to guess all nine of mine. What's yours?
