I'm more taken by the story of the battering handed out to Nicky Law and a couple of gobby Chesterfield players in the changing rooms after the 2-2 draw down here in 2001/02 season.

As Paul Rogers politely put it 'there was a melée'. Brighton won that one fair and square as well.

Well, who's going to be left standing after you've shot your stupid mouth off to Bob Booker, Danny Cullip, Paul Rogers, Gary Hart, Michel Kuipers and Paul Brooker in such a small confined space...?

 a northern league two club- brighton, well i know which 1 i'd choose.

Its a lot nicer up here

see ya next season pal, unless we pass you on the way up

Is it? When I visited Chesterfield in 2001 it was the worst town I had visited in an any away match with Brighton, and that still hasn't been bettered.
Do you live in the surrounding areas, are they better than the town itself?

Have you ever seen him play? He can't run for shit, and he certainly won't rip ANYONE to shreds.

The ONLY reason he'd have been good for us is because his crossing is top notch, and we've got a target man who thrives off good crossing. At most, he'd have been a good player to have come off the bench - which is why, although we now think he's a cock, we're not too bothered about it.

Who has ever said he was out No1 transfer target? You are deluding yourself mate, if you look back on the discussions on this message board you will see that the potential move of Currie to Brighton had it's supporters and critics in fairly equal measure.

Hang on a sec,

It says "Poised to sign". So he hasn't signed yet.

He's also been posied to join us.

We don't know if he's chosen to accept their offer or our offer do we?

I'll be disapointed if we don't sign him as I think he'd have been a great addition to the side.

He can't do that though, the inmate who reads and writes for him in on his break

That is true but the indication is that he'll sign with Chesterfield

Paul....BROOKER ?

We-e-e-e-ll, perhaps not.

Remember the tag-team contests during the wrestling on World of Sport, when Big Daddy would do his EASY, EASY 'splashdown' on some over made-up baddie-ponce in a pair of pants, only for his tag-team partner who was the size of Morph and weighed the same as block of anti-gravity to come along and lay on the bloke to win the two 'falls'...?

Paul Brooker.

Seriously, I can't remember which thread they're on, but I and several others have questioned on a number of occasions our apparent policy of signing former players, as I think it's a backward step.

Currie would have been one of those.

Content yourself with it if it makes you feel better, but I for one certainly won't be losing sleep over it, nor making any efforts to hold a grudge against him, as I cannot see how he would have genuinely improved our squad. He played against us last year and didn't exactly pose us problems.

Never go back, as the saying goes, and I just don't think you can recreate the success second time round (I hope that's wrong as far as Micky Adams goes).

People should move on...and that includes anyone still banging on about Chesterfield, 2001, or whatever that bald twat of a manager was called.

Good luck for the season, Spireite, I'm honestly not sure Currie is the sort of player who will make or break it for you, but hey, I reckon he could still be a useful addition at League 2 level.
