Have to share this. My absolute favourite track of the moment. Life enhancing. Let's hope we won't be sad tomorrow evening. If so this may cheer you up.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-8cuWpLdhw

When I'm walking down the empty streets
You're always in my mind, always
As a shell of melting secret words
You're always in my mind, always
I can feel your whispering inside of noisy dreams
Through the ceiling of a room,
The echo of your voice
As a wave brought by the wind
Is calling from the void
Now I recognize the sound where theres no sound at all
When you are sad, tears are not enough
Everytime you lose yourself in yearning
When you are sad, days are not enough
Time never stops before your eyes
When you are sad, rest is not enough
All your efforts seem to be ignored
When you are sad, beauty is not enough
Makebelieve is all you see around you.

I'll probably have this played at my funeral. Goodbye, indeed. I love the way this track comes back with a triumphant F'uck You at the end. :lolol:

Check out local bands 'Battery Operated Orchestra' and' Vile Electrodes' from Newhaven and Hastings respectively. Both producing great synthpop and play live locally a few times a year. Google them and lots of their stuff will come up. They should be much bigger but pure synthpop is probably seen as quite niche by those not into it.

are you seeing them through work? or how do you find these bands?

can I ask how old are you? I love this stuff at 62 and get frowned at

My route in was originally, Napster and Audiogalaxy, then youtube. I would have been looking up a group I like from the past, like Danse Society, and I'd get suggestions. On Napster, looking for early 80s gothy stuff lead me to other users who had stuff like VNV Nation, Theater of Tragedy etc. I had time on my hands at work 20 years ago, and a very fast intenet connection, and the rest is history. These days Youtube has brilliant algorithms. That's how I find most stuff these days. And I have been to see some of the artists: 'She past away'; 'lebanon hanover'; 'protomartyr'; and we are off to see 'pink turns blue' in a few weeks. I'll be 61 in May. Luckily Mrs T is a massive music nut too (although she's more a 'My Bloody Valentine' noisy guitar fan than synthepop/darkwave nutter like me). All the best!

Hi @HWT .... none of your videos are showing in this thread, for me! Am I going mad?

I can see them.....there have been a few issues with NSC lately....try again?

Decided to watch the game on telly today #badfan

I had so much domestic stuff to do....

I will either be thinking 'lucky I didn't go and watch that shite' or 'brilliant win, TFFT'. So its a win win. I just hope it isn't the slippery slope.....luckily I have BTsport and not Sky sport or it could be curtains :lolol:

I’m here with mild man flu. Never known the roads and park n ride so quiet, possibly due to quite a few watching on BT.

Enjoy.

Going back a few years to 2008 and our very own Skint Records put out an album by Mirrors, of Bexhill origin.

Lots of good songs on the album by the first track is a good place to start.

Needless to say they were big in Germany!

Wow! Great call - What a band Mirrors were. I was very lucky to see them at the Green Door Store in Brighton before they disbanded. Great shame as i thought they could have made it on to the mainstream scene, they were that talented.
