Wilkins? No chance. Apart from anything else he's only been at Southampton for 5 mins.

So Coppell would come but Curbs wouldn't. I think that's nonsense. With Falmer coming, as you say, it opens out wider possibilities and that must include Curbishley.

Why is it nonsense? If Curbishley wanted to be manager again, surely he would have done it by now, whereas Coppell hasn't been out of the game for very long. Either way I wouldn't complain if either of them got the job.

Sacking Wilkins has proved to be a disaster, he showed his qualities by his achievements that season.

I havn't seen us play but seeing these results as i greet a new day is frustrating and depressing.

With Knight no longer involved I know that Wilkins would come back if the right offer was made. And as for Curbs, I saw an article recently saying how hadn't managed again as he hadn't seen the right sort of challenge yet. Surely taking on the Albion job at Falmer and engineering our rise with an exciting young coach to mentor would be perfect?

Can I point out one fundamental flaw in this potential partnership?

Curbishley and Wilkins don't get on with each other. At least, they didn't three years ago.

Then again, who knows what it's like now?

I'll even name my source on that one - Dean Wilkins.

Regardless of Wilkins' obvious immense talents..he wont be returning. Ever wonder why he didn't ever go public with his anger at being sacked?

I didn't like you 3 years ago, so many things can change.

Probably because like many that leave the club they are NOT allowed to say much as to how they REALLY feel

Are you sure about Wilkins coming back?

I thought it was Bloom who wanted him out when he bought Adams back.

Difference is Coppell has managed at this Level twice before at Brentford and Brighton, I dont believe Curbishley has?

Curbishley Wilkens combo would be superb! All depends on how much influence Tony Bloom had in the original sacking of Wilkins. It would also re-establish the connect between the youth feeder network and the first tems, after all we haven't seen anyone come through the ranks for a season and a bit now have we?
