On another thread we received dogs abuse for pointing out that the Bolassie tackle was deserving of a straight red card. Today an independent panel of experts sat to review the evidence and agreed with us and the referee that the tackle was reckless and the straight red was warranted.

Don't want to be a damp squib but isn't there a difference between "not over-ruling" the ref on the day and agreeing 100% with the ref's decision.

The panel obviously considered the appeal had some merit as they didn't extend the ban for a frivolous appeal.
