I actually think that's a cracking bit of business.

If the seat would be empty anyway, fill it, and the bigger guy may have a beer or two / burger / prog, on the basis he got in for 'free'.

Money into the club, however small, but there all the same.

For example, myself and my boy didn't go last week against Cardiff ( school night ).

I had 2 adults that wanted them together, but once I got on phone to upgrade the under 18 in position 9 to the ticket office, I thought bollocks.

End result? I gave the under 18 card to a mate of mine for his daughter, and my seat was empty.

Pretty sure her dad bought her a beer ( knowing her dad :p ) and pie = revenue.

Empty seat = no revenue.

Another one letting rivalry get in the way of common sense, perhaps if you lot had done it you could have filled the Withdean.

Yes and no. Free (or cheap) tickets for young kids is clearly to be commended, if you can't fill your ground. As it happens U-10's were £17 for the season at Withers, so we did this anyway. They're actually only a few quid more now as well, so long as its in the Family Stand.

The bit about letting adults use them for evening games is madness though. That's going to be a few hundred people who would otherwise have bought match tickets, going free instead. Stupid.

Also - I wonder what controls are in place to prevent abuse. For example, what's to stop someone getting one of these free tickets alongside their existing seat PURELY for the intention of using it for adults at the evening games. What's to say you even HAVE a kid!?

Its a lot of games too. This season more than a THIRD (8 of 23) of our home league games will have been evening games.

Is this for real? “Just when you thought the deal could not get any better... you are allowed to use the (free) junior ticket as an adult on evening school night games at no cost.”

Absolutely nothing wrong in that, get them hooked as kids and they will turn into full paying sth in years to come. Good idea with the evening games too, my boy only goes to evening games in school holidays so whoever uses his seat pays the upgrade.

Yes, but their deal is that you don't pay for the upgrade, which is a STUPID idea.

I think everyone is overlooking the one great big drawback in this scheme - you have to watch Crystal F*cking Palace try and play football. Give me a tenner not to turn up and then you're in business.

Its a great idea by the club, getting the young fans to watch a game live, rather then on sky.
They are our next generation fans, so its got to be applauded !

You have to try everything to get people into that derlict shithole nowadays.

Personally I wouldn't take a child anywhere near the place, shit football, orange sluts with pom poms, burnt out carcase of a looted town next door. Wonderful.

Spot on, reckon on a normal game, you will have 2 seats per fan, the empty one only filled during the week, for free
