Brighton factually.....

On her website, Izzard said she wanted to become an MP for Brighton "to support this brilliant city and its diverse and vibrant community."
She said: "Labour needs a candidate that can inspire many thousands to become our friends and allies in the fight for a fairer, greener, cleaner planet."

If you support Palace, you can't champion the virtues of Brighton surely....

Thoughts.....

Great news I think Eddie would be a great replacement for Caroline and I am a Green voter so Sian would also make a great replacement. Think it would be excellent to turn another Palace Fan to Brighton, our fab Director and funder of Bobby Zamora Norman Cook aka Fat Boy Slim was also a previous Palace Fan. Also as many have said good to actually have a local person as a MP, as a Sussex person (although I think he may have been born in Yemen). Our current MP is from Oxford and has been a superb local MP.

Will she be a committed socialist putting sufficient funds into the welfare state, education, healthcare and building much needed social housing or will she be yet another Tory in a red tie like Peter Kyle and Kier Starmer?

So what do you want... another Tory government? Spreading snide comments like "Tory in a red tie" should certainly help. Funding for the things you care about was delivered by the Blair government, particularly for education. And it's naive that you reckon Izzard could have the power to deliver those funding programmes if elected. She could support them of course.

Strange choice IMHO - Eddie Izzard has very different policy thoughts to Starmer and Peter Kyle.

Whilst CL is/was an excellent local MP, the Green's have shown they can't run a bath, let alone a Council.

Not much of a choice is it?
I like Suzy/Eddie. Seems a caring and intelligent person and a good cultural fit for Brighton. However, she obviously turned her back on Brighton when, despite growing up in East Sussex, she chose to support Palace. If she wants to run a marathon from Bexhill to Brighton (I think its about the right distance) wearing full Albion kit and a sign that says 'Very sorry. I repent and have turned away from the dark side', then she could be a possibility. Ditto Jo Brand if she wants to swim from Hastings.

What is with comedians and Palace? Izzard, Brand, Kevin Day, Mark Steele, the sadly missed Sean Hughes, Holly Walsh, Ronnie Corbett, Doc Brown. There are a disproportionate number of good comedians who support them. There are also some terrible ones, but I won't mention them, for fear of upsetting Mark Steele.
If you live in South London you have to find something to laugh about...

I like Eddie as a comic, even saw her live back in my University days (in Leicester). Clearly a smart person.

But Palace?

(In reality, it matters not one jot - and also I haven't lived in Brighton Pavilion for decades at this point so...)

I would argue that trans Issues are very small potatoes compared to the clusterfuck of corrupt wankers that we have screwing this country over. No brainier really.
Indeed. Unless you, or somebody close to you, is actually trans, it really shouldn't be a concern. Trans people having rights isn't taking anything away from cis people.

Since 1950 Brighton Pavillion has had 4 standing MPs, this is where they were born, so who did they support!

Caroline Lucas - Malvern

David Lepper - Richmond

Jullian Amery - Chelsea

William Teeling - Dublin

The only candidate put forward to stand in the next election so far is

Sian Berry - Cheltenham

I hope fans do not canvas to get Norman Cook thrown off the board for being a previous Palace fan being born in Bromley

Who cares what he prefers. He is a man . Not even a transgender but a man who likes to cross dress as a woman. Bit odd but fair enough if that floats his boat but a man can’t suddenly decide to be called a woman for no reason other than he wears women’s clothing sometimes . What is this world coming too.
Don’t even start - they’ll be on you like a pack of wolves for this as it’s what they’re told to believe…

Hope he doesn’t get it - seems like publicity stunt for an attention seeker!

Why do they keep calling Eddie she/her. As far as I'm aware he hasn't changed sex has he?
Nope - it’s called ‘where the line is’ for myself and many. All for being open and human rights but not going to defy science and start bowing to attention seekers myself. If you go trans and change your genitals as an adult then def ok to be a she or he in my opinion - before then, nah. Each to their own.
