I actually quite like Eddie, but so confused by this. Palace fan as a Brighton MP, and a couple of my own mind fxxks being I am a natural Tory and the UK needs a Labour government right now, and personally I do not like the unneccessary big push of trans issues. I only get to vote in GEs so this will be a long thought process.

In a GE I'd vote for the proverbial pig's bladder on a stick if it wore a red rosette, so I really don't care who the candidate is. And certainly I wouldn't be swayed by their football team.

Izzard does say that it's important to elect a Labour MP in Brighton Pavilion so the city can have a voice in government. Take note all those of you tempted to vote for Lucas's successor.

Far more important to have an independent Green voice in Parliament. Caroline was excellent and I hope Sian can continue her work. One more Labour MP towing the line in a government that is so far promising to do sod all because of arbitrarily drawn fiscal rules is of no use to anyone.

Committed socialism isn’t going to win a UK general election, this UK is generally conservative (lower c) or neoliberalism and the party that wins has to represent the majority, so the most centralist party will win. Had a great lecture on political economics at Texas A&M university which explains in details how political parties (across all western democracies) whether right wing or left wing generally win general elections based on the most centralist leader. Whether this still applies in the age of nationalism / populism, would be an interesting debate.

It'll be interesting to see how many nut-job candidates Reform UK put forward at the next GE. One thing that is for sure is that they'll get heavy support from Brexiteers and that they will split the Tory vote. Who knows, Kermit might eventually be elected as an MP.

I'm willing to bet a shiny British pound that Reform will not stand in many Tory-held seats. I know Tice has said that he'll compete in every seat but I'd take that with pinch of salt. As for Farage, I want to see that ranine gobshite beaten by a dolphin again.

Strange choice IMHO - Eddie Izzard has very different policy thoughts to Starmer and Peter Kyle.

Whilst CL is/was an excellent local MP, the Green's have shown they can't run a bath, let alone a Council.

I would argue that trans Issues are very small potatoes compared to the clusterfuck of corrupt wankers that we have screwing this country over. No brainier really.
